How much does hotshot delivery cost in Chicago?
Short answer: it depends on four things — distance, size and weight, timing, and handling. Here's how each one moves the number, so you know what you're paying for before you ask for a quote.
1. Distance
The biggest factor. A cross-town run inside Chicago is priced very differently from a run to Milwaukee, Rockford or Indianapolis. Hotshot pricing is usually built around miles driven — including the miles to reach your pickup.
2. Size and weight
A dresser and a pallet of tile are different jobs. Bigger and heavier loads take more loading time, more securing, and more fuel. If it takes two people or special equipment to move safely, that shows up in the price too.
3. Timing
Same-day and after-hours runs cost more than flexible ones. If your delivery can ride on our schedule within a day or two, you'll usually get a better rate than "it must be there by 3 PM today" — though we do those too.
4. Handling
Ground-floor loading dock? Easy. Third-floor walk-up with a tight stairwell? That's real labor. Stairs, long carries, disassembly and fragile items all factor in. Tell us up front — surprises at pickup are the number one cause of price changes.
