Marketplace pickup & delivery in Chicago: how it works

Presman Freight · Guide · July 21, 2026

You found the perfect couch on Facebook Marketplace. It's $200, it's in Naperville, and you drive a Corolla. This is exactly the job a pickup and delivery service exists for. Here's how it works and how to make it go smoothly.

The process

  1. You buy the item. Agree on price with the seller like normal. We're transport, not middlemen — your money and your deal stay between you and the seller.
  2. Send us the listing details. Pictures from the listing, pickup address (or neighborhood until confirmed), your address, and when the seller is available.
  3. We coordinate the pickup window. You connect us with the seller or relay the time. We show up in that window — sellers appreciate a real truck arriving when promised.
  4. Loaded, padded, photographed. The item is wrapped, strapped and photographed at pickup so everyone knows the condition it left in.
  5. Delivered to your door. Photo confirmation at drop-off.

What it costs

Most single-item marketplace runs inside Chicagoland are priced by distance and item size. A dining table across the city costs less than a sleeper sofa from a far suburb with a third-floor drop-off. Send the listing photos and both addresses for a firm quote — usually back within the hour.
